The American Red Cross

HEALTH & SAFETY
For nearly a century, the American Red Cross has prepared people to save lives through health and safety education and training. From first aid, CPR and bloodborne pathogens training to swimming and lifeguarding, and Babysitter's Training, American Red Cross Preparedness programs help people lead safer and healthier lives. The Red Cross constantly strives to respond to the preparedness concerns of Americans at home, in school and in the workplace. Today's innovative programs also include teaching lay persons and professionals how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to save victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

YOUTH CLUB

Join the Prairie Valley Youth Club and make a difference!  Gain valuable skills while helping to fulfill the Red Cross humanitarian mission to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Club members learn new leadership and organizational skills - whether it's being trained in CPR and First Aid, making school presentations, helping teach kids preparedness skills, or participating in fundraising events.  These experiences could lead to the discovery of a career path in caregiving or emergency assistance fields.  You'll feel proud of what you accomplish - it's rewarding, FUN, and looks great on college applications.

The Club meets the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Any interested area youth, ages 12-23, are welcome to join.  With a sponsor, a Red Cross Youth Club can also be started within your own school.  Contact the chapter at 402-564-8314 for more information.
