Mission
Statement
The American
Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by it’s
congressional charter and the fundamental principals of the International Red
Cross movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent,
prepare for and respond to emergencies.
A Message from the Chairman
and Executive Director:
This past year, the Prairie Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross celebrated its 90th Anniversary. Since our Chapters initial charter in 1917, we have helped the community endure many different disasters, from major flooding and tornados to numerous house fires. The 2006 – 2007 fiscal year was no different. We provided assistance to 26 different disasters within our service area, which is a large increase from past years.
Whether we are responding to a record-breaking number of local disasters or teaching critical health and safety skills, Prairie Valley Red Cross is unyielding in its commitment to our community. Our organization has been established and maintained by the dedication of our wonderful volunteers and employees, and by the generosity of the American people.
On behalf of the volunteers and employees of the Prairie Valley Red Cross, we will continue to do our best to help our community prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies – and to remain worthy of your sacred trust.
